Glaucoma Care
Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness in the U.S. Why?
There are no early symptoms
you’d notice. So, on your own, you just
can’t know – for sure – whether you have glaucoma or not . . . until
irreversible vision loss sets in. Glaucoma is the second leading
cause of blindness in the U.S. And the leading cause of preventable
blindness.
But it can be treated . . . if detected early.
The Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study of glaucoma found eye drops
that reduce pressure inside the eye – a risk factor for developing
open-angle glaucoma – were effective in delaying the onset of the
disease by more than 50% and may be effective in preventing it
altogether.

Early detection requires advanced
instrumentation. We have it.
Traditional methods of glaucoma detection may no longer be adequate.
Today, corneal pachymetry, nerve fiber layer analysis, and other new
diagnostic tools may give doctors the edge in early detection, the
very techniques we employ here at The Eye Site in our comprehensive
glaucoma exams.
Do you have it?
If you’re either over 40, diabetic, or have a family history of
glaucoma, and have not been examined with the latest diagnostic
tools, you may be at risk.
Contact us . . . please . . . to
schedule a thorough glaucoma exam.
